Caito Foods - Newcomerstown, OH

Business location studies and facility planning were needed for this fresh cut produce process plant.

Caito Foods needed a 65-000-square-foot addition with 43,000-square-feet of expansion space at their produce distribution center in Newcomerstown, OH. 

Food Tech was chosen for the design-build project, which included multiple facility planning and structural engineering challenges. The finished facility features a cost-effective steel frame with insulated metal panel walls and an insulated roof membrane. Business location studies helped determine the location of the distribution center in order to minimize truck miles and help Caito ship a fresher product to customers. Food Tech’s material handling design for the plant features an ergonomic and productive racking system to allow order selectors access to the hundreds of SKU’s offered at floor level.
