North Coast Seafoods (North Coast) needed a contractor with cold storage construction expertise to help construct a state-of-the-art seafood process plant in New Bedford, MA. Food Tech was selected for the design-build project thanks to their cutting-edge refrigeration engineering.

The 47,000-square-foot facility involved considerable cold storage design and construction services. In order to increase refrigeration efficiency, Food Tech utilized a cost-effective steel frame structure, insulated wall and ceiling panels, and an advanced Freon refrigeration central system. From processing to production to storage, Food Tech focused on food safety design engineering, which provided North Coast a highly sanitary environment throughout the facility.  

During the project, Food Tech delivered the following:

  • Individual quick freezing (IQF) processing
  • Raw cooler, finish cooler, and storage freezer
  • Refrigerated truck dock
  • Offices and employee amenities for 120 employees
